Langston Companies, Inc. Makes a Series of Investments That Will Benefit Their Long-term Strategy

Memphis, Tennessee (November 12, 2019) – Langston Companies, Inc. has made a series of investments that will benefit their long-term strategy. Being a veteran in the packaging industry, Langston plans on remaining a mainstay for decades to come. This announcement arrives on the heels of the recent news release unveiling their new website which was part of a corporate brand refresh.

October marked a milestone towards Langston’s vision through the lens of innovation, launching their most recent capability with the latest technology in precision bag manufacturing equipment. Multiwall general manager, Edward Langston shared, “With cutting-edge technology, we can make bags for the most demanding, automated packing systems with the ultimate in repeatable precision.” Coupling the equation of quality output is the addition of a new gearless sleeved press with color-to-color tight registration for vivid imagery.

As one can imagine with such sophisticated equipment, comes all the bells and whistles. Langston can run extremely advanced, light weight, high strength, breathable papers for ply reduction as well as low dust filling and cleaner storage. What’s more, this resonates well with businesses that have an initiative to reduce their environmental impact to save natural resources.

Late 2018, Langston also introduced the capability to make biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) laminated woven bags. BOPP bags are widely sought after for their aesthetic retail appeal, durability and moisture resistance. “This strategic move fits naturally with our fully integrated ability to manufacture fabric from virgin resin to weave, allowing us to control quality and cost from the start,” says George Parkey, Chief Operating Officer. The popularity of BOPP bags is gaining momentum as they are recyclable and a cost-effective package option.

Genuinely caring about what their customers care about, the new additions are in the process of being FSSC 22000 certified as part of Langston’s commitment to their customers food safety expectations. FSSC 22000 certification is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmark providing worldwide recognition and acceptance by food manufacturers and retailers, Langston considers this paramount with quality being one of their factors of success.
